Debadatta Club Migration Project Staff & Shramikmitra organized a Destination visit from 22.10.2015 to 28.10.2015 to Tamil Nadu state in different places along with different factory workers.

In evening, discussions took place with both the Migrant Groups. In the discussions that took place, we made following observations:
1-Migrant are working as a Dally Labourers and are earning Rs-235/- for 8 hours OT extra at Rs-40 per hour.
2-Canteen Facilities are available at Factory Campus which includes three meals @ Rs-30/Per day.
3-Factory functions for 24 hours every day and is divided into three batches.
4-Free facilities are given to workers for staying -with RCC room, Electricity, Space for Playing etc.
5-Medical Facilities are provided if any worker has health problems.
6-Total 80 youth migrants are working in the Achampalayam SARADHA Spinning Meals out of these 12 youth migrants are Gaisilat block migrants and others belong to Boudh & Sonepur districts.
7-Mr. Hajira Khata maintains individual’s records and payments are done on weekly basis.Banks are located within 200 meters of radius and migrants can take benefit of Remittances.

On 25th October 2015 we moved at 8.00am from Achampalayam SARADHA Spinning Meals, by bus with Mr- Pramod Bariha Permanent Village –Jenkada Block Gaisilat Dist- Bargarh Odisha, Anur to Abinashi SCM company by bus. We met Pinku Sahu, Khireswar said of Village Ghadaghadimal & Sudam sahu of Amilipali Block Gaisilat Dist- Bargarh Odisha and discussed with them issues related to migrants. The company has employed more than 1000 youth migrants in the factory. Out of these 80 youth migrants are in Gaisilat block of Bargarh District.

1-Migrant are working as a Dally Labour, wage rate-Rs-180/- for 8 hours OT extra Rs-30 Per hour.
2- Canteen Facilities available at Factory Campus three times meals @ Rs-50/Per day.
3-Factory is functioning for 24 hours every day divided into Three Batches.
4- Free facilities for staying with RCC room, Electricity, Lateen Bathroom, Space for Playing etc.
5- Medical Facilities in any Health Problem but Medical Expenditure bear by the migrant.
6- Linkages Skill Development Training under NSDC ( National Skill Development Corporation) support by PMKVY and give the Stephan Rs-10000/each one month Training course in Spinning Doffer Trade.
7- Wage payment gives weekly by case.
1- One km Distance from Factory to Hostel
2- No canteen facility at Factory.
3- Unhygienic environment.
4- Dally wage working for 12 hours at Rs-300/per day in two batches O/T extra Rs-30/Per hour
5- Bonus facilities once in a year at the time of Diwali
6- On the way (Factory to Hostel ) Odiya Migrants were ill-treated and harassed.

Our Observation

1-Migrant youth is Hard Labor.
2- Migrant has to adjust in places.
3- Unskilled youth migrant start working as a skilled labour after one-month of training.
4- Helps in increasing income of the migrant youth
5- Changes of family livelihood.
6- Asset created at source Like Construction of own building, Land, gold etc.
7- Migration is a good opportunity for a changing of livelihood.
