Delhi, as the capital city of India and one of the country’s mega cities does not appear to be providing a very hospitable terrain for women as workers. The paper shows the women migrants in according to different occupational categories. A hyper visibility of women workers in the streets of the city presents a striking contrast with the statistical picture of a small percentage of workers among the women of the city and of women in the total workforce of Delhi.
