Further discussion on the motion for consideration of the unorganized Workers' Social Security Bill, 2008, as passed by Rajya Sabha. The Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Bill, 2008 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on 10th September, 2007. It was referred to the Standing Committee on Labour. The Committee submitted its Report to the Parliament on 3rd December, 2007. A series of discussions thereon were held by the Government with various stakeholders. Pursuant to these discussions, amendments were introduced in the Rajya Sabha which were incorporated based on the recommendations of the Standing Committee.
