Debadatta Club, Grindolmal organised an interactive programme with Block Administration on 22nd June 2016 on Interstate Migrant Labour Registration at Rajiv Gandhi Seba Kendra, Gaisilat. Mr.Hemanta Kumar Barik President of Debadatta Club chaired the programme. Mr. Sadakara Kumbhar Block Development Officer, Gaisilat participated as a chief guest. Mr.Sonu Bag ABDO,Gaisilat was the Honorable Guest. On this occasion all Panchayat executive officers, GRs and 19 Shramik Mitras of Debadatta Club participated. Chief Guest Mr. Kumbhar inaugurates the interface programme. Mr. Seshadeba Sahu field coordinator of Debadatta club welcomed all. Mr. Hemanta Barik highlighted the aim of interactive meeting. When a number of migrants migrated to other state and are working in different sectors like Brick Kiln, Construction, Textile & different factories with family and
individually also. Lack of awareness and motivation of middle-men makes the labourers more exploited both financially and physically. But the information is yet to come to the administration’s notice. For this cause victim migrants don’t get any compensation and legal support from Government.
Letter no. 2182(12-DLO,),on dt.10.8.2015,Bargarh district collector Anjan Kumar Manik served letter to all BDO for registration of interstate migrant labourers . Further Gaisilat block served letter to all PEO for migrant registration at GP level. But the registration system is not yet strengthened enough. BDO Gaisilat requested Debadatta Club for support of interstate migrant labour registration by their Shramik Mitra. During the discussion Block Administration appreciated the work of SSSK and committed to continue registration system at GP level with the support of Debadatta Club Shramik Mitra. Mr. Biswamitra Seth gave the Vote of Thanks.
