Gram-Utthan celebrates International Labour Day

Labour Day Celebrations were jointly organised by SSSK, Gram-Utthan and the Kanika Nirman Sramik Sangha at Charapada.

At the celebrations, the importance of collectivisation and its benefits for unorganised sector workers were highlighted by Aswini Samal, Sarpancha at Charapada. Basanta Kumar Sahoo (PA, Migration) exhorted the district administrative officer of the labour department to make further provisions for unorganized sector workers, and ensure better implementation of government schemes.

Govind Chandra Nayak (Hon. Asst. Sec, GU) elaborated upon the importance of creating sustainable models for collectives. Mr.Somya Ranjan Kara (BoCW Administrative Department, Kendrapara) discussed the BoCW act, and the legal status of workers who fall under the provisions of this Act.
