Established in 1987, GVP aspires for the establishment of an egalitarian society based on the principles of equity (including gender equity), justice and fraternity wherein collective endeavour has the potential of actualizing humane ends. GVP has been one of the pioneers of Selp Help Group (SHG) movement in Bihar and has carved a niche for itself as a self-help promoting institution in the region.
Working in some of the poorest districts of India, it provides the necessary support to a network of 11 NGOs in the area of self-help promotion in 410 villages of Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Madhepura, Saharsa, Araria, Supaul, Sheohar and Sitamarhi (Bihar).
