KAS was formed to provide development services and support to tribal communities in the remote parts of Udaipur and Sirohi districts which border North Gujarat. It has been promoted by the Adivasi Vikas Manch and Astha Sanstha and works in close affiliation with both these organizations in tribal south Rajasthan.
The organization is also a key partner of the Aajeevika Bureau and in collaboration with the Bureau it operates a centre for registration, counselling and training of tribal migrant families who go to Gujarat for employment.
