The National Human Rights Commission of India had constituted a Committee of Experts on 'Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Human Rights and Future Response' to prepare advisories for the Central and the State Governments on upholding human rights of all during the pandemic. The Committee of Experts consisted of domain experts from various thematic areas including the representatives from the civil society organizations, independent domain experts and the representatives from the concerned Ministries/Departments. Based on the assessment and consultations with all stakeholders, the Commission makes following recommendations, in the form of advisory, to uphold the human rights of informal workers during a pandemic and until the situation normalizes
