Migration is transforming our world: by the end of this decade, most developing countries will have more people living in cities than in rural areas. Adolescent girls in developing countries are an overlooked population, but one that is migrating to urban areas in ever greater numbers.
More number of adolescent girls are on the move, particularly in the developing world in search of jobs, livelihood, to escape the shackles of poverty or early marriage. while migration is associated with its own costs and risks, for girls, it holds opportunities to a better life and livelihood and they see a chance to prosper through migration.
