Health Camp organised by PEPUS

A health camp was organized by PEPUS on 18th March 2016. The camp was organized at Upadhyay Ka Purwa, Kaudihar block, Allahabad District.The camp was conducted by the PEPUS team Shramik Sahayata Kendra Lalgopalganj.

Migrant population in attendance was made aware about the health issues that recur with them. Awareness sessions on disease prevention, linkage with government health schemes, institutions and local health workers were held.

A registered medical practitioner was present at the camp for general health checkup and subsequent consultation. Medicines were also dispensed to the people with general health complaints. Referrals were also done in case of people showing advance medical complaints.

Project Director ,Kamla Ji addressed the gathering and dwelled in detail about the issues surrounding women’s health and the social stigma that prevents them from seeking medical advice and treatment. She appealed to stop hesitating and quit negligence regarding their own health and become health conscious.

Project Manager, Mr. Puneet explained the importance of regular health monitoring and vaccination program being run by the Government. He encouraged the people to intensify contact with the local health workers like ASHA and ANM to secure timely health services and needed health intervention.

Block Coordinator, Shramik Sahayata Kendra Lalgopalganj , Mr. Hiramani emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle in maintaining good health. He also stressed upon the need for consistent savings in view of future health needs. He also guided the population about various health insurance schemes available for the workers and their families and how to access them.

Block Coordinator, Shramik Sahayata Kendra Muratganj, Mr. Shivmangal, informed the workers and their families about the existing government health services and how to access them. He also encouraged the people access the organization in case of any difficulty being faced in accessing the said services and assured continuous assistance.
